A Little History

The original 17th Century farmhouse still forms a small part of the splendid early Victorian country house that now stands on the site. It was extensively remodelled about 150 years ago and remains much the same today.

Bought in the early 20th Century by Sir David Evans Bevan, the elegant staircase was added and the principal reception rooms and bedrooms were beautifully remodelled.

After 5 decades of parties and family life, the house was completely redecorated and renovated 5 years ago, retaining the beautiful period features, but adding modern heating and plumbing, making it a wonderful retreat for special occasions and entertaining.
