We are able to organise large pheasant and partridge days, or more informal rough shooting excursions. Duck flighting, walked up grouse on the Black Mountains, woodcock and snipe are all possible.
Felin Newydd is directly associated with The Tregoyd Shoot on the Tregoyd Estate where my grandfather and father have enjoyed many seasons.
“For sheer comfort and relaxation at Felin Newydd and the testing variety of birds in spectacular surroundings on the Tregoyd Shoot, the Evans-Bevan’s offer a matchless combination of sport and hospitality. This is as good as it gets anywhere in Wales”
Rory Knight Bruce - ‘The Field'
The Tregoyd Shoot
Tregoyd offers the very best in high pheasant and partridge shooting.
The shoot is set amongst 3,000 acres of breathtaking countryside between the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons and is made up of a varied terrain, ranging from steep rolling grass banks to deep rocky sided valleys.
Whether your preference is for challenging high and fast partridges, tall pheasants over woodland rides or pheasants towering high above ancient trees in open parkland, we have something to please all guns.
We look after many groups throughout the shooting season.
The house is the ideal complement for a great day’s shooting: we can arrange the catering, menus and wines, our staff will greet your guests, a butler can be organised to serve and organise the evening’s libations.
We'll have all the details covered
Guns can be secured in the gunroom.
Log fires and piping hot water, not to mention the deep feather down duvets, toasted crumpets & freshly made Victoria sponge, make us the perfect environment to return to after being at the mercy of the elements.
For those who may be less appreciative of mud, wet dogs, musty tweed and the smell of cordite – not to mention the banter… Hay-on-Wye is located just 15 minutes away, with coffee shops, boutiques and their famous book shops.
