Everyone remembers the food

We work closely with a handful of carefully selected caterers and chefs. Chosen for not only for their reliability and quality of service but because they are so helpful, patient and dedicated to food.

Here is a brief example of what can be provided:

Canapés

  • Crostini, smooth chicken liver parfait, sticky fig relish
  • Mini burgers, melted mozzarella, tomato chutney
  • Fresh herb and Parmesan scones, Welsh rarebit
  • Crostini, local smoked salmon, cream cheese, fine cucumber and dill dice
  • Shot of mushroom soup, truffle oil, Parmesan v
  • Crostini, avocado, chilli, lime, chives and king prawn
  • Asparagus spears, smooth warm hollandaise dip v
  • Deep fried baby squid with aioli dip
  • Little sausages marinaded in chilli, garlic, honey, mustard dip

Starters:

  • Caesar salad with Black Mountain smoked chicken, crispy bacon, ciabatta croûtons, sour cream dressing with a hint of garlic
  • Smooth parfait of chicken liver and pancetta, amazing green tomato and date chutney, pea shoots, capers, balsamic drizzle
  • Vine ripened tomato and roasted red pepper soup, fresh pesto, extra virgin olive oil
  • Pea, courgette, asparagus and Parmesan risotto v
  • To share at the table: Whole camembert pierced with garlic and rosemary and baked until bubbling, paté and houmous

Mains:

  • Fillet of salmon, fresh chive and lemon hollandaise, new potatoes crushed with rocket, watercress and baby spinach
  • Roasted 28 day aged local beef rump, horseradish mash, green beans, rich beef and caramelised red onion jus
  • Chicken breast roasted on the bone with balsamic syrup, garlic and rosemary, smashed potatoes with lardons, leeks and tenderheart cabbage, amontillado sherry reduction
  • Pulled Pork with crackling; chorizo, cannellini bean and cherry tomato casserole; grainy mustard mash
  • Slow cooked boned and rolled lamb shoulder; sweet potato mash; rich red wine, rosemary, garlic jus
  • Perfect for sharing: Seafood paella or chicken and chorizo paella

All the above served with selection of petit pois and baby vegetables or salad

Desserts

  • Very indulgent chocolate brownie, dark chocolate sauce, thick cream
  • Vanilla panna cotta, summer berries and raspberry coulis
  • Fresh strawberries and cream
  • Sticky toffee pudding, rich fudge sauce, thick cream
  • Lemon and ginger mascarpone cheesecake, amaretti crumble
  • Tea and coffee from buffet

We are fortunate to have so much wonderful produce on our doorstep.

Beyond the Wedding Breakfast

At Felin Newydd we are able to provide you with as much or as little help in the kitchen as you need.

Some guests like the house to be fully catered, some like to have evening meals organised for them and do the rest themselves, and others may have groceries delivered to the house and enjoy cooking in Felin Newydd’s large and well equipped kitchen.
