With no noise or light pollution, Blaencwm Cottage is the perfect escape from the stress and pressures of modern life.
Get up early or late, enjoy a proper breakfast off the AGA, lace up your favourite hiking pumps and step out into the magical Welsh countryside.
Return with a newly acquired memory or two, throw of your muddy boots and probably clothes then sink into a deep hot bath or the woodfired hot tub with your preferred libation and company.
Let your leg of lamb slowly roast in the Aga, sit by the fire, put your feet up and drink a large glass of red. Sing songs, spin yarns and reflect on how good life is.
These are all things we should do more of. Take time out – there is no better place than Blaencwm or any other of our very special properties.
As I write Pink Floyd keeps me company, the fire crackles in the hearth, my trusty dogs lie at my feet and I look out towards the misty damp slopes of Twmpa and Hay Bluff. I think I am in heaven.

Hot Tub
After a busy day exploring the wonderful countryside surrounding the cottage, there's nothing better than relaxing with a glass of something cold in our wood-fired hot tub.
With picturesque views, it's a wonderful opportunity to ease aching muscles, or simply enjoy a moment or two of quiet contemplation and feel at one with the world around you.
“Thank you for a 'home from home' now we have downsized from 8 to 3! It has been great to see our grandchildren enjoying each others company - not to mention the no need for alarm clocks in the morning!”
Brian Evans
Secluded
The approach is suitably exciting: a narrow track winds its way into the little cwm from the Mountain Road through fields of ponies and sheep. Low slung sports cars are not recommended but a previous occupant did drive to and fro every day in his Lotus Elise!
We will do all we can to assist access during periods of extreme wintry conditions.
The cottage is detached from any other buildings and has no immediate neighbours. There is a small stream and a very beautiful waterfall directly beside the property.
Blaencwm is situated just off the hill or common and there is, therefore an enormous amount of walkable, explorable, just-sit-down-on-able hillside.
COTTAGE GARDENS
The cottage has a sheep proof garden of about an acre. The lawns are cut regularly and we manage the beds as often as required. The brook and waterfall are ideal for exploring.
The garden is not dog proof and we respectfully ask that you take responsibily for your four-legged friends' actions.
